Annecy: Tour the Lake of Annecy by boat, visit the Palais de l'Ile, the Basilique de la Visitation, the old city of Annecy with its venetian canals...

On the East bank: Talloires and its shores, the church, Talloire's Priory (6 km), Menthon St Bernard and the castle that is said to have inspired Walt Disney for the castle of "Sleeping Beauty" (3 km), le Château d'Arenthon in Alex (7 km), The Salomon Foundation (Contemporary Art, with temporary exhibitions)...

On the West bank: Duingt (18 km), Museum of Bells in Sévrier (11 km), Ecomuseum of Savoyard Costumes, the Montrottier castle, the Seythenex caves and waterfall, Vaulx's Secret Gardens near Rumilly (22 km).

A little further: Geneva and Lake Léman, and the landmark water jet column (45 km with the new motorway), Aix les Bains and Lake le Bourget (40 km), Chamonix, the Mont-Blanc and its famous glaciers (100 km), Yvoire and its medieval town (74km).
